PERINATAL COUPLES COUNSELING

for intentional prepartion and transition into parenthood

  • Prepare intentionally

Bring awareness and choice into your experience. What kind of parent do you hope to be? How is that influenced by the kind of parents you had? What kind of partnership do you hope to have? What was modeled for you as a child? What are your dreams and expectations of childbirth and postpartum?

  • know before your grow

Arm yourselves with the information and pyscho-education proven to support families in the pregnancy and postpartum phase. This is especially important for those of us who have experienced anxiety or depression in the past. Understand the risk factors and create a support system now for healthier outcomes in the postpartum transition.

  • process and plan

You are already whole people, with histories, stories and all that comes with you. Take this time to process your existing feelings, lingering fears and anxieties while planning for the experiences ahead. Those of us with trauma in our pasts especially benefit from tending to our needs, boundaries and subconscious struggles in the perinatal period.

  • create together

From you alone, to the two of you….and now to 3 (or more!). Bringing life into this world is the ultimate creation, and this is for the two of you to dream, design and manage as a team. What is the vision? How do you stick to it? What do you do when things are difficult? Find your way together.
